We are very grateful to be part of this 54th Exhibition of CasaDecor. A space full of inspiration, good taste and ideas, ideal for visiting and immersing yourself in the world of decoration.
In this issue you can see the candleholders of Cerabella, one of the many novelties that we present in the new Spring/ Summer catalog 2019.
A really nice room with lots of energy and ideal to be inspired. Finally we thank and congratulate Carmen Figueres for the great work that she has done with this styling: a spectacular setting!
We have a beautiful way to celebrate the beginning of Summer in Barcelona: during St John’s Eve, we jump over bonfires, we dance all night long and we enjoy the delicious Coca de Sant Joan, a tasty cake topped with candied fruit.
Candles are essential for decorating gardens, patios and terraces where the celebration will take place, so, in our candleshop, we have chosen these colourful hurricane candles, perfect to illuminate oudoor spaces thanks to their wax wall that protects the flame.
Let’s make this Summer nights glow!
The exhibition Cutting-Edge Spanish-Crafts opened in Washington on February 5th featuring a selection contemporary craft and design pieces including some Cerabella candles.
Curated by Tachy Mora and organised by Fundesarte, the exhibition will be on view at the Former Residence of the Ambassadors of Spain, until March 29th, when it will travel to Lima.
The candles featured are designs by Sybilla and Jordi Labanda and they share this awesome space with creations of firms such as LZFlamps, Loewe, Vialis or Majoral.

We love lighting candles to illuminate parties, so it was such a pleasure to attend Annes Eventos reception in the heart of the city.
We would like to share some pictures of this delicious afternoon in the Gothic quarter of Barcelona where were tempted to invent just any excuse in order to celebrate!
There is a video from that afternoon by Cineticstudio.

The Lupercales collective uses architectural lighting to create, to make us think and to transform the city. La memoria del espejo has been their last light intervention and, as usual, candles have had an active role in the experience.
Here you will find a selection of images of their last action as well as some pictures from older installations to get to know better their interesting work. Lupercales blog is really worth a visit!

‘Cutting Edge Spanish Crafts. Innovation and design in contemporary craft industries‘, the book by the design journalist Tachy Mora, has turned into an exhibition.
What do have in common leading firms like Loewe and Lladró with individual craftsmen as the ceramicist Xavier Manyosa or the jeweler Enric Majoral? And a handmade carpet company as La Alpujarreña from Granada with La Granja Royal Glass Factory in Segovia? Or a candles firm like Cerabella with a lighting company as LZF Lamps?
According to Tachy Mora, all of them, each in their own way, share the determination to handcraft its products, providing them with a high-quality touch, sublime delicacy and creativity through a strong commitment to contemporary design.
Their stories and pieces, along with a representative set of artisans, designers, corporations, big companies, crafts industries or collaborative projects, are part of the exhibition ‘Artesanía Española de Vanguardia, Innovación y Diseño‘ -Cutting Edge Spanish Crafts, Innovation and Design-, which opened last 14th November in Madrid.
Powered by Fundación EOI – Fundesarte, the exhibition is a second round of the eponymous book ‘Cutting Edge Spanish Crafts‘, published in 2011 by Lunwerg in Spanish and English. Also promoted by Fundesarte, the book is a publication with an innovative approach that reveals the most contemporary side of Spanish Crafts, its interaction with the design field and the interesting harmony emerged between the two areas, in an incipient way at that time.
In just two years, the field of contemporary crafts has experienced spectacular growth, a global trend and unstoppable development that is crystallizing in Spain at high speed. The exhibition has been curated by the author, the design journalist Tachy Mora and aims to celebrate the rise of this phenomenon with a large show of 90 pieces and nearly 600 sqm in CentroCentro, one of the most outstanding spaces in the Madrid cultural scene, close to El Prado and Thyssen-Bornemisza Museums.
Among other pieces, the visitor will find a selection of Cerabella’s design candles such as the collections by Sybilla or the candles by Jordi Labanda. So honoured to be there!
