There is a beauty contest taking place in our candleshop where hens and eggs are showing off their pastel shades to celebrate Easter and the new season:
We are willing to celebrate the day of roses, dragons and books in Barcelona.
Next Thursday is Saint George’s day, the lovers day in Catalonia and, according to tradition, couples exchange gifts: a book for men and a rose for women.
So, as every month of April, the candleshop has dressed up in red to follow the beat of the city: bright hearts, roses scents and scrabble candles to inspire poems.
Happy Sant Jordi to everyone!
In the tiny poultry yards of our candleshops there are egg candles of thousand colours.
We love our bright hens because they have a discrete sense of humour and because they are the unmistakable sign that Spring has already arrived.
Don’t they look happy and satisfied? We dedicate to them this illustrated report:
Now it seems difficult to think about good weather, but we have spent so many days working on the news for the coming season that we just cannot wait to show them to you:
Scented candles with botanical fragances, hurricane candles for outdoor parties, large floating lotus candles, citronella reed diffusers with natural essences…
We will be glad to show you all the news at our stand in Intergift, from January 14th to 18th.
And for the ones staying far from Madrid, you can browse the new catalogue to know more about our new candle collections!
In our candleshops we have followed this literary Spring with meaningful shop windows: abecedary candles to write, to play, to read or to declare you are in love!
Today our candleshops windows are occupied by hen-candles amazed by the festival of colours that surrounds them.
Fuchsia and green, yellow and red, Easter-egg candles of all colour and sizes hide among the piles of straw, as bright as the good weather:
Happy Easter to you all!
Our new candles catalogue offers plenty of strong reasons to lighten up your nights and days:
the sea breeze and the sand under your feet, the vibrant colours of a rooftop party, the red perfume of an hybiscus in bloom or the citronella scent for a insect-free plein-air dinner. Any excuse is good enough to light a candle!
Sunny weather is here to stay and we love to celebrate it with a warm soundtrack that brings us to the neighbourhood where Cerabella was born.
Cerabella’s first candle shop was founded in La Plaça del Pedró of Barcelona, next to Carrer de la Cera (which literally means Street of Wax.) The street is said to be named so because of the rivers of melt wax spilling from the candles burning for a Virgin that was venerated there. Besides, its is also the street where, around 1950’s, the native Catalan Romani created the Rumba catalana with its unique half Flamenco and half Cuban sound.
While listening to its songs, there is nothing better to experience this part of the city than lighting a scented candle from the Barcelona Scented Candles collection inspired by this neighbourhood: a gourmand blend with notes of grated lemon and cinnamon and hints of honey, nuts and vanilla.
Finally, just a couple of links in case you felt curious about this street soundtracks : La rumba del Carrer de la Cera, a radio program on Rumba by music journalist Jordi Turtós and Al Carrer de la Cera, a cover from the popular Gato Pérez song. We hope you enjoy!
Luki Huber and Marta Méndez created Paper Boat Candles for Cerabella such a long time ago and their poetry still captivates us. Keeping origami in mind, now we have played with wax paper birds in plenty of colours.
We were willing to make this window shop display: the delicacy of this paper bird handmade candles really won our heart!
